Senior Thesis

Mastering your Honors work.

Your senior thesis is a yearlong project designed to bring about and demonstrate your intellectual mastery and to encourage the integrity and responsibility that only a complex project can illustrate.

Most often the thesis grows out of a project you have undertaken during your sophomore or junior year—research or independent work—though undertaking a new project is an option. By mid-October of your senior year, a topic must be chosen and agreed upon with your assigned adviser and one of your academic directors.

In the spring when you and your adviser are satisfied that your thesis is ready for presentation, it is given to readers before whom the thesis is defended, which is meant to explore your achievement and challenge your intellectual ability.
